NEA Educators Employment Liability (EEL)The NEA Educators Employment Liability (EEL) policy is an insurance program designed to cover the following:

1) the legal cost of defending civil suits brought against you for actions taken in the course of your work as an educator as well as up to $1,000,000 in damages;

2) up to $300,000 for the cost of defense and judgements for proceedings concerning civil rights;

3) reimbursement for attorneys fees up to $35,000 if you are charged in an employment-related criminal proceeding and you are exonerated;

4) reimbursement up to $1,000 for the cost of a bail bond for charges arising out of your employment as an educator; and

5) payment of up to $500 for damage to your personal property when caused by an assault upon you in the course of your employment.
